Privacy policy
Last updated 7 October 2026. Applies to the Sky City Android app and this website.
Sky City does not ask you for your name, your email address or your phone number, and there is no account to create. You can install it and play it without telling us who you are.
Some data is still handled, because the game saves your city, ranks your score and shows adverts. This page says exactly what that is.
What is handled, and why
| Anonymous ID | When the game first runs it signs in anonymously with Firebase Authentication. This creates a random identifier with no personal information attached to it. It exists so your coins and purchases belong to something. |
|---|---|
| Game progress | Best score, city rank, coins, streak, missions completed, worlds unlocked and your tool shelf. Stored on your device. Also copied to our database only if you have made a purchase, so that a reinstall does not lose what you paid for. |
| Purchases | Handled by Google Play Billing. We receive a purchase token from Google in order to verify it and credit your account. We never see your card or your payment details. |
| Play Games | Optional. If you sign in, Google Play Games Services gives the game your Play Games player ID so your score can appear on the leaderboards. Your Google account details are not shared with us beyond that. |
| Friend matches | When you start or join a match, the six-character code, the shared board seed and both players' scores and display names are stored so both phones can see the same game. Matches expire automatically. |
| Adverts | Google AdMob serves the adverts. Depending on your consent choice and your region, it may use your device's advertising identifier. See below. |
| Usage statistics | Google Analytics for Firebase counts how the game is played: sessions, screens, runs and purchases. It uses a random app-instance ID, your device's advertising identifier and a coarse location worked out from your IP address. We use it to see what to improve, never to identify you. |
| Crash reports | If the game crashes, Firebase Crashlytics sends a report: where in the code it happened, the device model and Android version, and a random installation ID. It is used only to find and fix the crash. |
| Reminders | If you allow notifications, the game schedules reminders on your device. No notification token is collected and nothing is sent from our servers. |
Adverts and your consent
Adverts come from Google AdMob. Where the law requires it, including the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the game shows Google's consent form before any advert loads, and your choice there decides whether adverts are personalised. You can reopen that choice from the game's settings at any time.
Google's own handling of ad data is described in Google's privacy policy.
Who the data goes to
We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers. It is handled only by the services the game runs on:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, usage statistics, crash reports and game settings
- Google Play Games Services — leaderboards, if you sign in
- Google Play Billing — purchases
- Google AdMob — adverts
How long it is kept
Friend matches are deleted automatically a short time after they end. Progress and wallet records are kept while the game is installed and until you ask for them to be deleted. Anything stored only on your device goes when you uninstall the game.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling removes everything held on your device. To have the records associated with your anonymous ID deleted from our database, email us from the address below and say so. We will delete them within 30 days. You do not need an account to make the request, but we may ask you for your in-game player ID so we can find the right record.
Children
Sky City is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and a material change will be announced in the game.
